About Star Trek

Star Trek, created by Gene Roddenberry, has remained a cult phenomenon for decades. The original series follows charismatic Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) of the starship Enterprise and his crew on their voyage through the final frontier... space. The series first aired in 1966 and lasted 3 seasons. It was followed by a short lived animated series, then spun-off into: The Next Generation with Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart), Deep Space Nine with Captain Ben Sisko (Avery Brooks), Voyager with Captain Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), and lastly Enterprise with Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula). After being inactive since 2005, the Star Trek franchise was revived with director J.J. Abrams’ reboot. The 2009 Star Trek movie was set as a prequel to the original series with Chris Pine playing a young James Kirk. Star Trek remains the cult phenomenon that it is, and continues to inspire the science fiction genre.
